While there may always be bullies in the world, our response to bullying as a culture can change the effect bullying has on potential victims.   Instead of tacit acceptance of bullying by standing mute while others are victimized, we have to teach our youth to collectively stand together with the victim.  By showing group support for the victim, we prevent the painful consequences caused by isolation and stigmatization.

Human progress is neither automatic nor inevitable.  Even a superficial look at history reveals that no social advance rolls in on wheels of inevitability. (Martin Luther King)
